Things to see and do

From your holiday cottage you can walk, fish, ride, windsurf, watch birds or play golf at lovely Lake Dathee . It's just a few minutes away. by car.  TheVire golf course has 18 holes and wanders around the lovely lake. Views from the elevated club-house are beautiful.

There is the St Sever National Forest to picnic and walk in just beyond our village too. All around are marked walking trails or places to just wander and explore. A Normandy 4 Two holiday can get you fit!

We regularly have barn owls nesting in our barn and glow-worms, dormice and red squirrels appear in the lanes nearby. Champ du Boult and St Michel de Montjoie figure on the local Granite tourist trail.

There are several smaller towns and villages with their own smaller markets, bars and shops within three and six miles of the cottage. And ,of course, our local bar a mile away , has fresh bread and a few basic items.

Enjoy the great restaurants or succumb to the invitations to sample cheese, cider and Calvados. Explore the Depots Ventes (Bric a Brac warehouses) or the Vides Greniers (village street flea markets in summer). We supply lots of information in the cottage. Or just relax...

Bayeux, Mont St Michel, Avranches, the coast with its sandy beaches and promenades - and the port and old town of Granville with its excellent seafood are all within about an hour. Vire, 9 miles away is a bustling town well known for its gastronomy and has good supermarkets and interesting town shops. You will find an excellent Friday market there.

There is another on Tuesdays in the delightful old town of Villedieu le Poeles (God's Town of the Pans). Here, among its many pretty alleys and courtyards, there are countless copper workshops, a bell foundry, lace, clock and Norman furniture museums to visit.

Visit the Bayeux Tapestry and make history come alive. Bayeaux is a lovely little town. You will find a large WW11 British War Graves Site there too.
